Silence through sound
I sit on a ledge
Staring at the endless waves
Man’s machines toiling away
Across the narrow sea
Wind blowing through my hair
Splashing water hitting my shoes
The wind making many sounds
Yet none that can be heard
It is music that fills my ears
Poured directly into them
Drowning out all other noise
Creating silence through sound
The body stays perfectly still
While the mind wanders off
Free to go, free to float
Wherever it may go
Should I head back?
No, perhaps I’ll stay
Just a little bit longer.
